Navah - Begining to Continue
At Navah, families bereaved by war, terror, and tragedy find comfort, a compassionate listening
ear, understanding, and meaningful support—along with professional tools to help them cope
with loss through the following initiatives.

Navah’s gatherings create a warm, empowering space for families bereaved by the October 7
massacre and the ongoing war. Here, families meet others who truly understand the depth of
the pain because they carry it themselves.
Each gathering features three central elements:

A dedicated support platform for bereaved families that allows participants to join from
anywhere in the country and connect to content tailored to their needs. The program is
delivered through online sessions and “empowerment” broadcasts led by professionals from a
range of fields, including trauma therapists, psychotherapists, and other specialists.
The sessions are held on Zoom and bring together dozens of families who gain strength,
practical tools, and resilience to help them cope with loss. The broadcasts are also recorded and
later viewed by hundreds more participants.

A supportive and compassionate initiative in which Navah volunteers stand alongside families of victims and those accompanying them during funerals. Volunteers distribute hundreds of kits that include drinks, printed burial prayers, tissues, and kippot for those who wish - while most importantly offering a caring presence, emotional support, and practical assistance throughout the funeral.
Since October 2023, Navah has participated in more than 500 funerals, standing with grieving families in their most difficult moments.

Navah offers a range of therapeutic support groups for bereaved families, thoughtfully tailored
to the cultural, gender, and community backgrounds of participants. The organization brings
more than two decades of experience and expertise in providing group-based emotional
support for families coping with loss.
The groups incorporate a variety of therapeutic approaches, including psychodrama, art
therapy, music, and other creative modalities, adapted to the needs of participants.

For families who have experienced loss, family-centered holidays can be especially painful, when
the absence of a loved one is felt more deeply and the longing grows more intense. At Navah,
we embrace bereaved families during the holidays:

On Erev Yom Kippur, we come together for a meaningful day of prayer and song at the Cave of the Patriarchs and Rachel’s Tomb. This powerful gathering brings dozens of bereaved mothers and widows into a shared space of remembrance, faith, and hope. Through heartfelt melodies and women’s voices lifted in unity, the day opens hearts, strengthens spiritual and personal connection, and instills renewed strength and hope as they enter the new year and its challenges.

Every holiday, Navah opens its heart to families bereaved by terror and war. On Passover Seder night, hundreds of families are hosted at a hotel for a festive meal filled with warmth and human connection. On Rosh Hashanah, dozens of widows are welcomed for a hotel retreat in an uplifting and strengthening atmosphere. Before Hanukkah, Purim, and Sukkot, Navah also organizes special gatherings - filled with meaningful content, light, and care - that offer participants a sense of belonging, joy, and renewed strength.
At times when loneliness is felt most deeply, we are there to remind families that no one has to face these moments alone.

Before each holiday, hundreds of pampering care packages are sent to bereaved families nationwide. The packages include games, toiletries, sweets, a booklet of inspirational articles, and words of encouragement.
