A Special Evening of Hope for Israeli Terror Victims Sefer Torah Dedication- Sukkot 2009 On March 27th 2002, 30 Israelis were murdered and 140 were wounded in a suicide bombing at Netanya's Park Hotel as they sat with family and friends at the Pesach Seder. More than seven years later, the pain has not subsided for those families who lost loved ones on that tragic night, and for those whose lives were shattered in the hundreds of other attacks carried out by terrorists over the past nine years. But at one special event on Sukkot, 35 families who lost loved ones in terror attacks will gather together to gain strength and hope from each other at an emotional Hachnasat Sefer Torah (Torah dedication) ceremony at the Park Hotel, in the very place where the tragedy occurred. The event is being hosted by the NAVAH Organization, which has been at the forefront in assisting victims of terror and their families since 2002. The Sefer Torah itself will be donated as a gift to the Park Hotel by Mr. and Mrs. Ira and Ingeborg Rennert of New York for use in the hotel synagogue in memory of the victims. EVENT DETAILS: Date: Tuesday, October 6, 2009 Location: The Park Hotel, Netanya, Israel Time: 5:30 PM Torah Dedication Ceremony through the streets of Netanya leading back to the hotel with special guests, including former chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, Jewish Agency Chairman and former Government Minister Natan Sharansky* and Netanya Mayor Miriam Fierberg-Ikar Approx. 8:00 PM VIP Dinner with the victim's families and distinguished guests (with reservations) * Mr. Sharansky has yet to confirm his participation If you are in Israel and interested in participating in this unique and special event, please email navahtorahdedication@gmail.com for more information.
