Dear
Honoured Donors,
Our heartfelt thanks for the very generous and vitally
important donations that you sent NAVAH, enabling us to hold our Passover
evening for widows, orphans and bereaved families.
This evening was specially dedicated to families who
lost members in terror attacks and other tragedies . These families suffer from
mental and emotional hardships, and find the festival of Passover and especially
Seder Night which is extremely difficult to celebrate without the physical
and financial support that our organization provides.
Widows have expressed to us their difficulties at this time.
The Holy Seder Night is especially focused on questions from a son to a Father,
discussions in belief and the importance of a family sitting and sharing the
evening together. Bereaved families, see the empty chair around the table and
memories come flooding back . It becomes very difficult to overcome ones
anguish.
These families obviously need especially sensitive and caring
attention. Therefore, the idea was born to gather them for a communal family
evening. For the last eight successful years, NAVAH has managed to unify
these families and help them to cope together as brothers in pain, This
helps them not to feel alone in their pain or alone amongst their
community.
During the course of the event we provide supportive and
therapeutic workshops which give them the mental tools to cope them with
their deep loss.
This year we were privileged and blessed with Rabbi Rimon,
leading a very emotional and moving Seder. Rabbi Rimon was very successful in
making each one of the participants feel a part of this special evening. One of
the most cherished moments was when the orphans together with the bereaved
siblings gathered around the Rabbi to sing the “ Ma Nishtana.” Such an event,
witnessing about 30 small children singing together this heartfelt, traditional,
melody warms the heart and adds hope for the future.
In your merit we were able to host about two hundred
and fifty special people for the Seder Night and the first day of Yom Tov. This
was made possible only because of your warm hearts, concern for others and
generous donations. This enabled all the participants to experience
real happiness knowing that some very special members of Klal Yisrael were
helping to ease their pain and suffering.
Amongst our guests was FAMILY B. who lost their eldest son,
only 20 years old, 11 months ago. He suffered heart failure and did not wake up
in the morning. The family was experiencing great sadness about the upcoming
holiday. They felt confused and had no desire to participate in any Seder. To
their great joy they found a listening ear, staff that understood their pain and
families with whom they could share their sorrows with. They would like to thank
you from the bottom of their hearts for the unforgettable Seder and on the inner
strength they gained.
FAMILY S. C. lost their daughter Efrat in the Carmel fire
disaster. Efrat was engaged to be married but burned to death in the ill - fated
bus of soldiers. Family Cohen came completely broken- the disaster was still so
fresh in their minds and their pain so deep. They had come to join us since
their tragic situation did not enable them to host their own Seder. Deep pain
and sorrow was reflected in their eyes. On their departure Family Cohen wrote:
We have no words! This was the beginning of our rehabilitation. With all the
hardships we have gone through we have received the right perspective in life.
The families we spent time with were our brothers, they understood our pain. We
participated in all the workshops and this really started our recovery process.
With your help we all gained. The Seder evening was truly Jewish, Thank You.
MRS. I. G. came with seven cute little children.
Two years ago they lost their father in a terrorist attack .This single mother
battles daily with financial and parental issues all alone. She needed to give
herself and her kids a break, needed to share the burden with others and also
wanted her children to spend Seder Night in a pleasant environment. Her children
needed to experience the Simcha of the Chag and happiness which was so lacking
in their own home. They also needed someone to ask their questions to. Her kids
had a great time and the light returned to their eyes. MRS.I. G. and her
children felt strengthened and happy .
In your merit, these widows, orphans and bereaved families
were able to enjoy their Seder without “Bitter Herbs”
Thank You from the depths of our hearts.
